We have had some wonderful messages of support for paths planned for in Whitecotes Playing Field. Here are some extracts from a few: I fully support the idea of paths across the field. This is something which will make the fields much easier to access for everyone, especially for those of us with small children. What a fantastic idea. The playing field is well used by the local community but would be used even more, all through the year, if paths were installed from the entrances. This would enable everyone access to cross the field including those in wheelchairs, pushchairs, bicycles and those who are less abled bodied and those who want to sit on the seats around the playing field. It would be good to see the children being able to ride their cycles, scooters etc across to the children’s play equipment. I would love to see paths across the field -- it would make it possible for disabled people to enjoy this unspoilt green and natural area with lovely views and lots of wildlife right on their doorstep -- an oasis surrounded by houses -as well as parents with pushchairs being able to get to the playground which is very difficult for some at the moment. In muddy conditions it is very unpleasant for everyone else as well. I have tried to get across the fields from Whitecotes Park with a push chair to use the swings and really struggled, it would be brilliant if people of every age and ability were able to access the fields, enjoy the space and the views. Please put paths in soon as my husband cannot use his walking Aid on the grass. We still want to walk there, although our old doggy pal has gone. I'm writing to offer my support for putting paths across Whitecotes Field; it would really improve access and make it easier for everyone to enjoy the full use of the area. At the moment it is not easy for people with more limited mobility and small children. However we need a great many more if we are to succeed in gaining funding.
Please take the time to send us one. Comments are closed.
